Cardiologist Dr Adrian Brady discusses the barriers for GPs to successfully treating high blood pressure:

'What we see, generally, is that newer drugs are better at lowering blood pressure without side effects. We have had powerful drugs for many years, but these were often intolerable by patients with hypertension.'
